01Your account

Keep your profile complete, accurate and up to date — correct contact details and bike information help mechanics and marketplace partners deal with you smoothly. PEDAL24 may ask for identity verification; it’s what keeps burner accounts out and trust in.

02Booking a repair

  • Describe the problem specifically“Rear brake rubs when warm” beats “brake broken”. Add photos or a short video.
  • Share your bike’s detailsType, brand, e-bike or not — it changes the parts and the quote.
  • Agree price, place and time in chatEverything important in writing, before the work starts.

Repairs are booked and paid through PEDAL24 — and for every service booked through the platform you receive a proper invoice, your proof of what was done and paid. (Marketplace deals are different: those you settle directly with the other person.)

03Working with your mechanic

Mechanics on PEDAL24 are independent professionals, not employees. Be on time, make the bike accessible, and expect the agreed price — if extra work or parts turn out to be needed, a good mechanic tells you before proceeding, and you decide. Undeclared work (“Schwarzarbeit”) is prohibited for everyone on the platform.

04Buying on the marketplace

Marketplace deals are made directly between you and the seller — you agree on price, payment and handover in the chat, like on classic classifieds. That freedom works because buyers stay sharp:

  • Read the listing fully and ask your questions in chat
  • Meet in person, inspect the bike, take a test ride
  • Unsure about condition? Book a check by a verified PEDAL24 mechanic before you commit
Do
  • Deal with verified members with visible history
  • Agree everything important in the chat
  • Hand over money and bike in the same moment
Don’t
  • Prepay strangers before seeing the bike
  • Move the conversation off PEDAL24 chat
  • Ignore a deal that seems too good — report it

05Selling on the marketplace

Honest listings sell faster. Describe condition, brand, size and any defects; add clear, well-lit photos; answer buyers promptly. Listing is free — no fees, no commission on private sales.

06Meeting safely

For home visits, make sure the workspace is accessible, well-lit and safe. For marketplace handovers, prefer public, busy places in daylight. And before riding a freshly bought bike, make sure it’s roadworthy — brakes first.

07Reviews & reporting

Rate honestly after every deal and service — reviews are what keep the community trustworthy. See a suspicious listing, a fake profile, or behaviour that doesn’t belong here? Report it in the app; our team reviews every report. Unresolved conflicts can be escalated to PEDAL24 support for mediation.

08Ride green

Every repaired bike and every second-hand deal keeps a good bike rolling and materials out of landfill. Choosing repair over replacement and used over new is the most bike-friendly thing you can do — after riding, of course.
